The Welcome Committee organizes and hosts events that help new families feel part of the Wooster community. Volunteers help the College before students come to campus and when they arrive for their first few days as Scots.
Admitted Student Receptions: Help coordinate, host, attend, or provide financial support for a reception in your city or region to welcome admitted students and their families. Events are planned across the country in the late spring and summer months before students arrive on campus.
Welcome New Families on Campus
During orientation, parent volunteers staff welcome tables in each of the residence halls and in Lowry Center. Volunteers answer questions and help parents and families make new connections. Black & Gold Weekend is another opportunity to make families feel welcome, and volunteers are asked to be available at registration and throughout the weekend to answer questions and offer advice.
