The Helen Murray Free Endowment Lectures will be given on Thursday, October 18, 2012 by Professor Sam Niedbala. Niedbala is Professor of Practice in the Department of Chemistry at Lehigh University located in Bethlehem, PA. He teaches in the areas of clinical chemistry and regulatory affairs. His research group is focused on advancing detection methodologies for HIV and Tuberculosis.
In addition, Niedbala is the CEO of deTect Biosciences LLC, a spinout company formed by researchers at Lehigh University and NYU's School of Medicine and Dentistry. The company is researching and developing the use of a new class of peptides that will allow testing of blood or saliva to identify active Tuberculosis infections.
Niedbala received his B.S. from East Stroudsburg University and his M.S. in Clinical Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Lehigh University.
