Project Description:

We will investigate weakly hydrogen-bonding systems in organic solvents using cavity-enhanced spectroscopy. From absorption spectra of solutions, we can determine the equilibrium constant for formation of hydrogen-bonded complexes in different environments. The results have implications in both understanding and predicting secondary structure of peptides and proteins.
