WOOSTER, Ohio - The College of Wooster honored 66 employees who marked significant milestones or announced retirement in the past year during the annual Service Recognition Luncheon on May 18. Seven longtime employees concluded their careers at the College, including Elaine Wetz, a member of the vice president's office for finance. Also retiring were Raymond Frank (materials management/transportation) Margaret Herman (purchasing); Cynthia Maxhimer (admissions); Jimmy Meyer (Wooster Magazine); Linda Straub (academic affairs); and Julia Wertz (academic and administrative custodial services).
As for current employees, LeRoy Boulton, a member of the campus grounds staff for 45 years, was honored for the longest tenure of service. He was joined by Nancy Anderson, director of the Student Wellness Center, and Donna Yonker, a member of the hospitality services department, each of whom were recognized for 30 years of service.
Other longtime honorees were 25-year employees Shirley Foltz (residential custodial services), Patricia McVay Gorrell (college libraries), Elaine Over (grounds department), and Sally Whitman (office of the secretary); 20-year employees Diane Lash (physical education), Sharon Bodle (college libraries), Judy Davis (hospitality services), Charles Gard (post office), Mark Niemczyk (grounds
department), Natalie Richardson (human resources), Miriam Terman (student wellness center), and Eric Van Vooren (hospitality services); and 15-year veterans Timothy Anderson (safety office) and Connie Leming (hospitality services).
Those honored for 10 years of service were Katherine Clyde (administrative coordinator), Roger Collier (publications), Bonnie Edwards (bookstore), Sharon Gumbert (admissions), Rob Harrington (physical education), Hugh Howard (sports information), Daniel Indovina (academic and administrative custodial services), Gerald Patterson (chemistry), Patrice Reeder (geology), Vickie Rouse (residential custodial services), Lori Schimmel (physical education), Carol Thompson (bookstore), Loren Tooley (bookstore), and Kathy Trivette (academic and custodial services).
Those marking their fifth year at the College were Lucinda Alderman (academic and administrative custodial services), Todd Burson (business office), Ricky Curie (hospitality services), Seth Duerr (physical education), John Glasener (maintenance operations), Jeffrey Gonser (bookstore/office services), Scott Gross (hospitality services), Linda Hans (materials management/transportation),
Thomas Harland (security and protective services), Denine Kain (academic and administrative custodial services), Deborah Kilbane (applications development), Connie McCarty (applications development), Sherlyn Myers (academic and administrative custodial services), Lisa Panepento (admissions), Wanda Robinson (hospitality services), Jennifer Shipley (residential custodial services), Judy Snader (hospitality services), Gary Sparr (academic and administrative custodial services), Kathryn Thomas (academic and administrative custodial services), Gail Wiebe (hospitality services), and Katherine Wilson (financial aid).
Part-time employees marking milestones this year included 15-year veteran Donald Morris, a member of the golf operations staff. He was joined by Paul Cooley (golf operations), Loretta Bett (hospitality services), Dennis Derflinger (materials management/transportation), and Dwayne Garvey (materials management/transportation) each celebrating 10 years of service, and Donald Hershberger (golf operations) and Jennifer Reynolds (nursery school) both with five years.
