WOOSTER, Ohio - Wooster magazine, the quarterly alumni publication of The College of Wooster, received a gold (first place) award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District V for Best Alumni Magazine in the category of publications produced by fewer than three full-time employees. Wooster edged out other magazines in this category from Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. This is the second year in a row for the magazine to receive a CASE award.
Wooster magazine's staff consists of Karol Crosbie, editor; Roger Collier, production director; and Matt Dilyard, photographer. Graphic design is by Ullman Design in Marietta.
CASE is an international association of educational institutions, whose membership includes nearly 3,400 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and nonprofit organizations in 59 countries.
Wooster is one of the oldest alumni magazines in the country. The first issue, published in 1886, was called the Post-Graduate and Wooster Quarterly. Throughout the years, its name changed from the Wooster Quarterly to the Wooster Alumni Bulletin, to the Wooster Alumni Magazine, and finally, simply to Wooster.
