WOOSTER, Ohio — The College of Wooster Dance Company will present its annual fall concert this weekend (Nov. 17-19) in Freedlander Theatre (329 E. University St.). Performances, which are free and open to the public, begin at 8:15 p.m. each evening, but limited seating is available so advanced reservations are suggested. All tickets are general admission.
This year's concert features the work of 11 student choreographers — seniors Stephanie Andrus, Mark Banks, Zuri Baron, Maria Cox, Brandelle Knights, Breanne Lengacher, and Aaron Yi; junior Kaleigh Richards; and sophomores Shakera Blackmon, Shannon McKnight, and Amadi Washington — and 10 student lighting designers, six of whom — senior Bronwyn Schlaefer and sophomores Chelsea Gillespie, Alex Hiatt, Adam Shapiro, Ben Pfister, and Kent Sprague — are designing as a project for their Lighting Design class with Dale Seeds, professor of theatre and dance at Wooster. The other four — seniors James Lance and Valerie Mozena, and juniors Paul Swanson and Richards — have designed for Wooster Dance Concerts in the past.
Seeds designed the repertory lighting, while Charlene Gross, costume designer, created the costumes. Schlaefer will serve as stage manager, while senior Bridget Hillyer will be the narrator.
