Visiting Assistant Professor, Early American History (1-year)
The Department of History at The College of Wooster invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in Early American history beginning August 2014. We welcome candidates with expertise in any area of American History prior to 1877. Desirable, but not required, fields would include: Native American, Environmental, Science and Technology, Gender, and Colonialism/Empire. The successful candidate will teach one survey course U.S. Experience to 1877 as well as other courses in her/his field of expertise. She/he will also supervise undergraduate research in the Independent Study Program, the College's program of faculty-mentored undergraduate research. PhD preferred; advanced ABD will be considered. A complete application will include: a letter of application, a statement of teaching philosophy, a curriculum vitae, a graduate transcript, and three confidential letters of recommendation.
