10-27-21: Campus Community Message

Community message graphic for The College of Wooster

Dear Students, Colleagues and Families,

I write with a short public health update following October break. As  you know, we have been testing all students and employees who are not vaccinated for COVID weekly, with good results and very few cases. As so many students travelled off campus for October break, we decided to do a broad-based testing of all students last week and this week. Huge thanks to Angela Johnston and many others who made that effort possible. As you can see on our dashboard, of over 1,500 student tests done last week, we saw only three (3) positive results. (Individuals who test positive on the rapid test are sent for PCR follow-up). We are pleased with our student results, as they demonstrate that our students, of whom over 98 percent are fully vaccinated, are able to continue their engagement on and off campus in ways promote good public health. Two employees also tested positive.

We will continue to keep you updated on any changes in our policies or public health plans as the semester continues.  In the meantime, my deepest thanks to everyone for your dedication and care for our community.

Sincerely,

Sarah Bolton
President
