The College of Wooster is dedicated to making a premier education affordable for all Ohio families and recognizing student success. First-year students from Ohio, entering the College in the fall of 2024, are guaranteed a Dean’s Scholarship totaling $128,000 over four years, or $32,000 annually.

Interested students should submit the Common Application or Apply Coalition on Scoir no later than February 15 for Regular Decision. There is no separate scholarship application, no application fee, and no supplemental essay.

Additional Scholarships & Aid

In addition to the Dean’s Scholarship, students may explore their eligibility and next steps for our additional competitive and performance-based scholarships (note the January 15 deadline)*. We also encourage all students to submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to learn their eligibility for need-based financial aid. This year, students who submitted the FAFSA had an average aid offer of just over $50,000.

*Students who are eligible for and awarded a tuition benefit such as the Tuition Exchange Program, the Great Lakes College Association (GLCA) program, Wooster’s employee tuition remission, or Veteran’s Education Benefits may choose to apply for the merit scholarships noted above, but if awarded, the scholarship status will be honorary only.

Tuition Free Guarantee

Due to the generosity of our loyal alumni, Wooster guarantees free tuition for in-state students who are eligible for the Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG). Students must submit their FAFSA by the appropriate deadline each year. The Tuition Free Guarantee consists of grant and scholarship assistance primarily provided by Wooster but also includes state and federal grants. This guarantee began for new students enrolled in the 2020-21 academic year as full-time, residential students.
