Ellen Vayner, Adjunct Professor, began her academic career as a chemistry professor after earning her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. In 2017 she completed her M.A. in Translation Studies at Kent State University and added Russian courses to her teaching assignments. Prof. Vayner’s interests lie in the field of quantum theory and literary translation. Her most recent publications include co-translating Yevgeniy Fiks’s Mother Tongue, Levan Berdzenishvili’s Sacred Darkness: The Last Days of the Gulag, and Sasha Filipenko’s Red Crosses. Presently she is working on Dmitry Bykov’s collection of short stories and Victoria Tokareva’s novellas.
