Professor Sell has published work on financial market theory and practice. His current research focuses on information transmission in smaller markets and how the merger of such markets affects the transmission of that information. Having spent time a significant amount of time living in Germany, Sell is especially interested in international business culture and has published a paper comparing the behavior of firms based in Germany and in the US.
Professor Sell served for two years as the Interim Vice President for Finance & Business at the College and remains the College’s Investment Officer. He has has also served on the Advisory Board of Abbot Capital Management (New York), the Board of the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce, and was Treasurer of Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties.
