Queer People of Color is a student advocacy and support group for those who exist within the margins of race, sexuality, gender identity and romantic identity. We serve as a social space for queer students of color and a platform where members can work to address needed change on Wooster’s campus. We strive to foster a safe and respectful community, while raising awareness and creating campus-wide dialogue about said queer issues that intersect with the needs of multicultural communities. As Queer People of Color, our student organization focuses and works to address issues of injustice and oppression within our community, while simultaneously seeking to alleviate those issues through campus-wide dialogue, collaborations with other on campus organizations and advocating for policy and protocol changes at the College of Wooster. Our meetings are open to anyone, regardless of identity, however we ask that allies are conscious of the importance of a QPoC-centered space should they chose to attend a meeting.
