15th Weekly Campus Health Update
Congratulations to students, staff and faculty for your amazing work this semester. You have kept Wooster safe and running from January 16th all the way to this last day of classes, and you have done it wonderfully. Every individual on our campus has played a role, and you all have a tremendous amount to be proud of. You have made this semester happen, together.
Our public health situation on campus remains strong, with two positive test results (both students) last week, out of 1201 test results received. As we go into finals and commencement, we ask that students and families observe the COVID precautions for move-out. You can find those details here. We want to be sure to keep students and employees safe through the end of term and to prevent anyone bringing illness home with them.
The last COVID-testing cycle for all students on campus will take place next week. After that, students staying on campus briefly for athletics will test with their teams. Students staying on campus for the summer are required to be vaccinated for COIVD -19. Having the entire residential student population vaccinated creates a much safer community, and significantly reduces the public health precautions necessary in the residence halls. We will announce a much less frequent testing program for summer students and employees in the week of May 10th.
Next week will be our final weekly campus health update for the semester. We will continue to communicate public health plans for fall following expert guidance as it evolves over the summer, with the next update in early June. We are confident that our vibrant campus will be fully up and running, with classes, athletics, music, theater, clubs and other activities in-person, safely, this fall.
My tremendous gratitude to you all for your incredible efforts this year. I wish you all the very best for the last weeks of the term.
Sarah Bolton, President
