International Student Orientation

(International Students and Global Nomads Only)

9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. 
Family and Guests of International and Global Nomad Students 

Families and Guests of International Students and Global Nomads are invited to start their day on the main floor of Lowry Center with coffee and conversation with various campus representatives. The morning will end with a Q&A with International Student Services staff. 

Lunch will be available in Lowry Dining Hall. Students may present their COW Card, while family members will need to purchase their lunches.

1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Move In & Get Settled

Report to your assigned residence hall and check in for your room as well as the New Student Orientation Program. Residence Life staff members will be available to assist you with any questions. Additionally, there will be local vendors, representatives from various campus departments, and voter registration under the tent in front of Compton Hall.

4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Dinner on Own

You may purchase tickets during move in and enjoy dinner in the Lowry Dining Hall or you may choose from a selection of restaurants in Wooster to enjoy. Students may present their COW Card to eat at Lowry, while family members will need to purchase their meals. There is no charge for students to eat. Family members will pay a nominal fee. Dinner at Lowry will begin at 5:00 p.m..

6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Reception for family and Guests of the Class of 2023

Family members and guests of the Class of 2023 are invited to join the Office of Parent Engagement for refreshments and an opportunity to connect with other first year family members.

7:00 p.m.
Students Gather in Oak Grove for March through Arch to McGaw Chapel

Experience your student’s first March Through the Arch! Line the walkways between the Kauke Arch and McGaw Chapel and cheer on your student.

Breakfast (Families and Students)

Enjoy breakfast at Lowry Dining Hall and visit with various campus resources. Make sure to stop in and get your Post Office Box information, confirm Student Wellness service information, and talk with representatives from Dining Services and some local banks. The Business Office will be available in Galpin Hall during regular business hours to answer questions.

* Students must be 18 or older to open an account

You may also:

  • Visit the Learning Center on the Lower Level of the Gault Library for Independent Study
  • Register your vehicle with Security and Protective Services in Culbertson/Slater House (2)
  • Inquire about Student Employment in the West Wing of Service Center in the Human Resources Area located at 536 East Wayne Avenue, north of Longbrake Wellness Center (10)

Community Values and Principles (Fam ilies and Students)

The signing of the Community Values statements is a pivotal moment in every student’s transition to The College of Wooster. Families are invited to join us in commemorating this first of many milestones in the Wooster experience.

Class of 2023 Photo at Kauke Arch

Students will gather with their classmates at the Kauke Arch to have their first official class photo taken.

12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
Lunch

Join other new students, their families and college staff for lunch at Lowry Center. Students should present their C.O.W. cards while family members are guests of the College.

Family Session

If your student’s last name begins with A-K, please begin your family sessions at The Alley on the lower level of the Lowry Student Center. If your student’s last name begins with L-Z, please begin your family sessions at the Gault Recital Hall in Scheide Music Center.
