The College of Wooster Art Museum’s permanent collections include prints, ancient pottery, ethnographic materials, and contemporary art. The largest single collection is the John Taylor Arms Print Collection, a 1968 gift of over 5,000 prints and drawings given to Wooster by Ward M. and Mariam C. Canaday. Some of the artists represented in this collection are Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer, Isabel Bishop, Martin Lewis, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Albrecht Dürer, Käthe Kollwitz, and Félix Bracquemond.
Objects in the permanent collections are available for study by students, faculty, and scholars. Collection objects are also utilized to support course-embedded exhibition projects such as Saints, Relics, and Images: The Art of Medieval Devotion (.pdf) and The Performative in African Art (.pdf).
