Get Involved

Rainbow Fist

There are many ways to get involved at the College of Wooster, such as our many student organizations or other programs that partner with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Listed below are some that connect to the Sexuality and Gender Inclusion branch.

Safe Zone Practicum (IDTP 405)

The Safe Zone practicum is a 0.5 credit course that prepares students to facilitate Safe Zone training workshops on LGBTQIA+ identities and communities, while also assisting in creating content for the training. There are great opportunities to develop new 200 level trainings each semester. Consider joining us!

Support Groups

The College of Wooster offers several support groups for students with LGBTQIA+ identities, who are wanting to discuss their own sexuality and gender in order to create connection with peers of similar identities and experiences.

Student Organizations

Queer People of Color

Queer People of Color (QPOC) is a community and network for people within the margins of racial, gender, romantic, and sexual identities. Meetings are held Thursdays at 6 p.m. in Lowry 119.

Queer Student Union\

Queer Student Union (QSU) is a student advocacy, awareness, and social group for those belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and allies that aim to foster a safe and respectful community while engaging in a campus-wide dialogue.

Sexual Respect Coalition

The purpose of Sexual Respect Coalition (SRC) is to bring awareness to and fight against the effects of rape culture, as well as to foster sexual respect at The College of Wooster. Through our meetings and advocacy, we hope to help the campus intelligently deal with, solve and grow through issues of sexual disrespect.
