When Practice Becomes Purpose: Fall 2026
Investigative research, professional work, and immersive global exploration open new paths for students’ interests
Learning takes on new meaning when students put their knowledge into practice, encounter unfamiliar perspectives, and discover possibilities they hadn't considered. The fall 2026 issue of Wooster magazine explores how experiences beyond the classroom help students connect their interests with future opportunities. Meet students conducting original scientific research through nationally recognized programs and applying their skills through internships and consulting opportunities in Wooster and around the world. Follow faculty-led journeys to Japan, where students examined globalization through Japanese culture and history, and the South Pacific, where they witnessed the impact of climate change on Pacific Island communities. The issue also celebrates a historic connection between Victor Andrew, Class of 1926, and Nobel laureate Arthur Compton, Class of 1913, that helped inspire a generous gift from the Andrew family supporting the renovation of Compton Hall.

Q&A: Your turn!
For the next issue, think about which places on Wooster's campus hold special meaning to you. From favorite study spots and gathering places to the settings of unforgettable moments, campus spaces often become part of lifelong memories. Some responses will be included in an upcoming issue.
