Wooster builds all eight into the work you're already doing, and the APEX staff pick up from there. When it's time to turn coursework into a resume, an interview, or a job offer, you’ll have someone with you every step of the way.

Experiential Learning
Up to $4,000 to Take the Internship You Want
APEX Fellowships put up to $4,000 toward a six-week, 225-hour internship or research experience, with smaller Micro Fellowships available for shorter stints over winter or summer break. Faculty and staff mentors check in throughout, helping you turn the experience into something you can speak to in an interview.
Experiential Learning
Student Consultants, Actual Clients
Every summer, three-student teams in Wooster’s Applied Methods and Research Experience (AMRE) program spend seven weeks consulting for real clients like Sherwin-Williams, Goodyear, and the Wayne County Public Library, among others. While the work is guided by a faculty advisor, it’s the students who develop and present their deliverables to a real client. Our AMRE program has run for 32 years and completed 248 projects for 80 different clients.
Global Engagement
Expand Your World with Study Abroad or Off Campus
94% of Wooster students who studied off campus said it changed their life in a real, positive way, and left them better prepared to engage with the world. Semester and year-long programs are only part of it. Faculty-led TREKs take small groups on weeks-long excursions built around a single academic question, from climate justice in Fiji and Tuvalu to architecture and memory in Berlin.
