What can you do with a Neuroscience degree?
Neuroscience is the study of the brain and nervous system, how they work, how they shape who we are, and what happens when they don't function as they should. How does a three-pound organ produce memory, language, decision-making, and even your sense of self? How can we better understand and treat neurological disease?
At Wooster, you'll explore these questions through biology, chemistry, psychology, computer science, and philosophy while gaining hands-on research experience from the start. Because many of neuroscience's biggest questions remain unanswered, you'll do more than learn established knowledge. You'll design experiments, analyze data, and contribute to scientific discovery through original research alongside faculty mentors.

The biggest questions in neuroscience are still unanswered. That's why research is central to the student experience at Wooster.
Beginning in your coursework and continuing through Independent Study, you'll design experiments, collect and analyze data, and communicate your findings while working closely with faculty mentors. Students investigate topics ranging from genetics and hormones to cognition, environmental influences, disease models, and human brain function, gaining the experience needed for graduate school, medical school, and research careers.
