Academic Opportunities

161

Build your foundation for business leadership.

Students interested in business careers are encouraged to meet with an advisor early in their college experience to develop an academic plan tailored to their goals.

In addition to coursework across the liberal arts, students can strengthen their preparation through experiential learning opportunities such as:

  • Entrepreneurship Pathway

Develop the skills and confidence to solve problems, create opportunities, and bring new ideas to life through entrepreneurship and innovation. The Center for Entrepreneurship connects you with courses, individualized coaching, venture creation support, and partnerships with regional businesses that strengthen your learning through real experience.

  • Jenny Investment Club

Manage real investments with real impact. The student-run Jenny Investment Club oversees a portfolio valued at more than $15 million, making it one of the oldest and largest student-managed investment funds in the nation. Open to students from every major, the club provides hands-on investment experience while helping fund scholarships for international students at Wooster.

  • Applied Methods & Research Experience

Work as a consultant to solve real business challenges before you graduate. Through the Applied Methods & Research Experience (AMRE), students work alongside faculty to consult for organizations such as Goodyear, Progressive Insurance, and other corporate, nonprofit, and public-sector partners. Over more than 30 years, AMRE has completed nearly 250 consulting projects, giving students the kind of professional experience the classroom can’t replicate and employers value most.

  • Social Entrepreneurship

Create solutions that make a lasting difference. Since 2005, students from across the College have partnered with more than 40 nonprofit and community organizations to tackle real social challenges through the Social Entrepreneurship Program. Projects have included developing sustainable business models for organizations like The Wilderness Center and Viola Startzman Free Clinic, creating impact that continues long after graduation.

  • Business internships
  • Undergraduate research

These experiences help students develop practical skills while exploring different areas of business and leadership.
