Biography

Sarah J. Sobeck, Professor of Chemistry, currently serves as the Dean for Faculty Development.  Previously, she served as Associate Dean for Experiential Learning. As Dean, she leads faculty onboarding, professional development initiatives, and campus-wide strategic projects. Her research explores the intersection of chemistry and art, including sabbatical work at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields and Yale University’s Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage.

A committed educator and mentor, she has advised nearly 50 senior theses and facilitated numerous faculty development programs. Her scholarship includes publications and presentations in conservation science and photochemistry, and she actively contributes to national and international conversations on experiential education and student engagement in research.

  • Application of spectroscopic and chromatographic methods to assess degradation kinetics
