External Scholarships

External, or outside, scholarships are gift funds that you apply for and receive from a source not affiliated with Wooster, the federal or state governments.

All outside scholarships or other resources need to be reported to the Financial Aid Office. Our goal is to apply your outside scholarship as favorably for you as possible. If your financial need has been met, your work study or Federal Direct Loan may be adjusted first. There are situations where it may be necessary to reduce Wooster aid based on the other aid you have already received, per federal regulations. You will be notified of any changes to your awards.

External Scholarship Resources

The Financial Aid Office maintains a list of Private Scholarship Opportunities that we have received from scholarship organizations for our students. Check this regularly for new opportunities.

There are also several scholarship search websites that are helpful to students. Cappex, College Board, Fastweb, and Sallie Mae’s Scholarship Search are good starting points. You can also talk with your High School Guidance Counselor for information about scholarships for your school and community.

Wooster does not endorse any specific scholarships or services/products affiliated with or linked to these pages.
