The College of Wooster partners with The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business to expand graduate business education opportunities

A new partnership between The College of Wooster and The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business will create expanded pathways to graduate business education for Wooster students and alumni. The collaboration brings together the strengths of two Ohio institutions with a shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and preparing students for meaningful professional success.

Through the partnership, Wooster students and graduates will have streamlined access to seven of Fisher’s highly ranked graduate business programs, including the Full-Time Master of Business Administration (FTMBA), Master of Accounting, Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Supply Chain Management, Specialized Master in Business Analytics, Specialized Master in Finance and the Working Professional MBA program.

“At Wooster, we ensure our students receive a foundational interdisciplinary education that prepares them to build careers as influential leaders,” said Ashley Kistler, provost of the College. “This partnership provides Wooster students and alumni with a direct connection to nationally recognized graduate business programs, offering new opportunities to develop specialized expertise, expand their professional networks and achieve their long-term goals.”

Open to all majors, eligible students and alumni will benefit from a more seamless graduate application experience, including reduced barriers to applying, early engagement with the admissions process, expedited admissions decisions, and enhanced opportunities for funding consideration based on eligibility.

“In addition to a major in business economics, minor in international business economics, and pathway in entrepreneurship, Wooster students across the disciplines interested in business already benefit from a variety of opportunities on campus that give them an edge as graduate students in business,” Kistler said.

Kistler noted the Center for Entrepreneurship at Wooster connects students with internships, regional and alumni business leaders, guidance for student businesses, and pitch and case competitions. Students across majors gain investing experience through The Hans Jenny Investment Club, researching companies and investment opportunities, developing recommendations, and helping manage approximately $15 million of the College endowment. From the JPMorgan and Walmart Financial Services to the National Bank of Pakistan, these opportunities prepare Wooster graduates to become influential business leaders around the world.

“Fisher is proud to partner with The College of Wooster, an institution recognized for cultivating intellectually curious graduates who are prepared to tackle complex challenges,” said Brian Mittendorf, associate dean for graduate programs at Fisher. “Together, we are creating opportunities for Wooster students and alumni to build on their strong academic foundations and gain the advanced business knowledge and leadership capabilities that help professionals thrive in a rapidly evolving economy.”

The partnership emphasizes personalized support and meaningful engagement through events hosted by both institutions, providing Wooster students and alumni opportunities to connect directly with Fisher faculty, staff, and admissions representatives. Prospective graduate students also will be paired with a Fisher admissions recruiter who will serve as a dedicated resource throughout the application process.

“Strong communities and organizations depend on leaders who can combine analytical thinking with a broad understanding of people, markets, and society,” Mittendorf said, referencing the broad liberal arts education students receive at Wooster. “By bringing together the strengths of Fisher and Wooster, this partnership helps students continue their educational journeys while preparing to make an impact in their professions and communities.”
