What can you do with a Theatre & Dance degree?
Theatre & Dance combines creative expression with critical thinking, collaboration, and performance. At Wooster, you'll study acting, directing, dance, design, theatre history, playwriting, production, and performance while exploring how the performing arts help us understand ourselves and the world around us.
From your first semester, you'll learn by doing. Through coursework, productions, rehearsals, and creative projects, you'll build practical skills while working closely with faculty, staff, and fellow artists. Whether your interests are on stage, behind the scenes, or somewhere in between, the program encourages you to develop your artistic voice while preparing for a wide range of creative and professional careers.

Senior Independent Study gives Theatre & Dance students the opportunity to create original work rooted in research and artistic practice. Whether you're choreographing a dance inspired by historical research, writing an original play, designing costumes or scenery, or exploring another creative focus, you'll work closely with a faculty mentor to bring your vision to life.
Beyond Independent Study, students gain valuable experience through departmental productions, internships, summer theatre opportunities, study abroad, conferences, festivals, and professional organizations that connect classroom learning with the performing arts community.
