Areas of Interest
David Kirby’s teaching and research interests are found at the intersection of chemistry, biology, physics, and materials science. He has taught General Chemistry and Physics classes, as well as Physical and Analytical Chemistry. While at The College of Wooster, he maintains a collaborative effort with Ohio TechNet and Kent State University, focusing on the development and instruction of Semiconductor Manufacturing and Cleanroom Processing courses. His previous research has explored the self- and directed assembly of nanowire arrays. His continuing work looks to use engineered nanoparticles with controlled sizes and surface chemistries to create and explore potential nanomaterial fertilizers using a hydroponic plant model.
