About
I grew up in the Midwest and when I had the opportunity to study abroad, the experience definitely opened my eyes to the world! I went on to earn a M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii and to teach English in Japan for several years.
I began working in the field of international education in 1995 and developed a passion for helping students learn to engage thoughtfully across cultures. This capacity to shift perspective and behavior around relevant cultural differences is so important in today’s complex global society. I also love helping international students integrate into our campus and develop lasting friendships with their American peers.
I first visited Wooster in spring 2018 and was immediately captivated by the beautiful trees on campus and the distant sound of the bagpipes. Now I know that even more impressive are the College’s smart, motivated students.
Although I love to travel, I am somewhat of a homebody and love pampering my two cats, spending time in my flower gardens, and learning to knit. My two sons live in Idaho, and I treasure our visits and long phone calls.
