Jim McClung ’59, alumnus and emeritus trustee, is a former senior executive at FMC Corporation, a multinational chemical, machinery and defense manufacturer. He operated businesses in more than 75 countries, living in Africa and Europe for eight years, and built international revenues exceeding $ 2.5 billion. Presently he is CEO and Chair of Lismore International that integrates company growth strategies with advisory board services. In addition, he an active partner with SMB interim management, a search firm that provides interim top-level executives to companies and organizations. Likewise, he Chairs the board of 4 D Healthware, a remote health care company. And he currently serves on, or has been on, nine corporate boards of privately owned companies and public corporations, and four university and college boards.
He presently serves as director of the Japan American Society of Chicago, a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. In 2014, he received Wooster’s Distinguished Alumni Award. And in 2020, he received the Japanese Emperor’s award as a member of the distinguished The Order of the Rising Sun—the second highest award given by the Japanese government. McClung earned his bachelor’s degree from Wooster, a master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
