The Community Action Housing Project, an eight-week initiative, addressed two key issues in Wooster, Ohio: limited affordable and accessible housing. Our first client, Community Action Wayne/Medina, charged us with researching land-use restrictions hindering multi-family housing development. IncludeAbility, our other client, sought information on options for more accessible housing for residents with physical disabilities. To address these concerns, the team researched successful strategies from other cities across the nation and Ohio, sharing models that Wooster could implement. We further proposed tools like Community Engagement and Enhanced Security and Management plans to address resident concerns regarding communication and safety.
