Experiential Learning Showcase allows Wooster students to share their work with the community

A student sharing about his Experiential Learning opportunity

The College of Wooster will host its annual Experiential Learning Showcase the week of Monday, Nov. 13 to celebrate the students who served as APEX Fellows or on AMRE consulting teams and give them a chance to share their work with the community.

The showcase can be found at wooster.edu beginning the morning of Nov. 13. On each page, students have recorded a brief video introducing themselves and sharing about their summer experiences. This year’s showcase includes 54 students who participated in APEX fellowships, and 11 teams completing AMRE projects. Winners of this year’s Experiential Learning awards will also be announced during the showcase, including a Student Award, Faculty/Staff Award, and Community Partner Award.

The APEX and AMRE programs grant Wooster students the opportunity to explore their passions and connect what they learned in the classroom to the real world by conducting research and completing internships in the community outside of the College.

APEX Fellowships (Advising, Planning, and Experiential Learning) provide structured and mentored support to students engaged in summer internships or vocational exploration programs of at least six weeks or 225 hours.

AMRE (Applied Methods and Research Experience) gives Wooster students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in the role of business and organizational consultants. Students work in small teams, under the guidance of faculty advisors, in coordination with an external organization to complete pre-determined consulting projects.
