Bassist, educator, and composer Ian Kinnaman teaches double bass and electric bass at the College of Wooster. Originally from Maryland where he performed with the Trinity Chamber Orchestra, Ian moved to Ohio where he received a B.M. in Music Education from Youngstown State University. There he studied with bassist and composer Dr. David Morgan. Ian is a working freelancer and regularly performs in jazz, classical, and folk contexts. He has appeared on several albums, including Alla Boara’s Le Tre Sorelle.
Ian has performed as part of the ORMACO World Tour of Music and the Tri-C Jazz Festival, and has shared the stage with musicians such as Jamey Haddad, Amanda Powell, Jack Schantz, Anthony Taddeo, Howie Smith, and Dominick Farinacci.
