Jennifer Winge led the Wooster admissions team since 2011 as dean of admissions. As a graduate of Allegheny College with a bachelor’s degree in English, Jenn has committed nearly twenty five years to college admissions including work at her alma mater as dean of admissions and director of college counseling at The Kiski School, a private high school near Pittsburgh. While at Kiski, she also served as an English instructor for eleventh and twelfth grades. She is an active member of her state and national professional associations, having served as delegate to the national association and currently as the state’s committee chair for admission practices. Jenn is also a member of the advisory board for SAGE Scholars and frequently presents on college admission topics at high schools across the country.

Why Wooster?

I was immediately struck by the diversity of our students and their vigor to grow and succeed here. That vigor is then guided and tested by some of the best professors in the country. All Wooster students graduate having produced new knowledge or new art through the mentored research experience with our faculty. This mentorship (and friendship) lasts a lifetime.

Favorite Wooster Tradition

Our long history and cherished traditions are plenty! But, if I have to choose one, it would be our bagpipers and drum corps leading the football team onto the field before every home game. It represents many aspects of our thriving campus – musical and athletic talents, our Scottish roots and the incredible sense of community.

Favorite Place in Wooster

It’s tough to choose a favorite restaurant, but you can’t beat the chocolate custard at Broken Rocks Café. My favorite spots on campus include the Oak Grove and the Timken Science Library.

Fun Fact About Me

I’m best known for motivating colleagues and students by starting a meeting or event with a cheer.
