Ashley Reid

Ashley Reid currently serves as interim associate vice president of student affairs, where she oversees associate and assistant deans, student rights and responsibilities as well as serves as a Posse Mentor and Deputy Title IX coordinator. Prior to her current appointment, Reid was elevated to associate director of athletics and chair of the physical education department in July 2019. In that role, Reid was involved with all of the athletic department’s day-to-day operations while also serving as a sport supervisor for 12 of the school’s 23 varsity teams. She completed her B.A. and M.A. in education at Walsh University, where she also was a four-year starter for the Division II women’s basketball program and left as the second all-time leading scorer and was a first-team all-American Mideast Conference selection three times. In 2011, she was inducted into Walsh’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Peter Sundman ’81

Presidential Search Committee Chair

Peter Sundman ’81, alumnus and trustee, served as the chief executive officer of ClearBridge Advisors in New York, the largest stock-fund division of Legg Mason, a global asset management firm until 2011. Sundman joined ClearBridge in December 2008 and was previously chief executive of Neuberger Investment Management’s fund division. He joined Neuberger Berman in 1988 as director of institutional sales and held positions of increasing responsibility in both the mutual fund and institutional business at the firm. He was a member of the five-person executive committee that took Neuberger public and subsequently sold the business to Lehman Brothers. From 1982 to 1987, he was at Traveler’s Insurance Company in the asset management and pension services area. Sundman, who earned his degree at Wooster in history, has served as a trustee since 2003 and has previously served on a leadership group in the New Your area. He established the Sundman Endowed Scholarship at Wooster in 2014 to benefit students in study abroad programs. He also serves as a Board of Trustees member for Artisan Partners Funds, Frost Valley YMCA, and the Institute for the International Education of Students.

Mark Goodman ’90

Mark Goodman, alumnus and trustee, is Chairman of the Colorado Nut Holding Company. In addition, Mr. Goodman also advises and consults with select companies and institutions on global branding and marketing. Previously, Mr. Goodman served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Boyer Coffee Company. A former economic and foreign policy advisor to Senator Edward Kennedy, Goodman has held significant leadership positions at Fortune 100 and 50 companies including Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Walmart/Sam’s Club and Corporate Vice president of U. S. Strategy and Operations for the McDonald’s corporation. At Wooster he earned his degree in philosophy and has served as a trustee since 2016. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, where he earned his master’s degree in analytic philosophy. He also serves on the board of directors for Pinnacol Insurance Company Bellco Credit Union and Delta Dental Insurance Company, Colorado.

Ken Aldridge ’90

Ken Aldridge ’90, alumnus and trustee, is the head of Wilmington Friends School in Delaware. He earned his degree in chemistry at Wooster and received a Master of Chemistry Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Aldridge has served in a number of roles throughout his teaching and administrative career including science teacher, swimming and tennis coach, and assistant dean of students at George School where he received the Price Teaching Chair Award for Young Faculty. He was middle school principal at Germantown Friends where he previously was head of the science department and received the American Chemical Society’s (Philadelphia Section) Excellence in Teaching Award. He also serves a number of other boards and organizations. Previously serving Wooster as president of the Alumni Board from 2016-19, he has been a trustee since 2021. He has also served as an alumni board member, reunion ambassador, and a member of the Parent’s Leadership Council.

John S. Wilson ’78

John S. Wilson ’78, Alumnus and Trustee, retired as a Lead Economist of the World Bank Group and is Founder of the John Sullivan Wilson Family Fund of the Cleveland Foundation.

At the World Bank, he served in the Development Research Group and the Infrastructure Vice Presidency, providing leadership in operations around the world on trade and development issues. Wilson previously served as Vice President for Technology Policy at the Information Technology Industry Council in Washington, D.C. and as a Senior Staff Officer at the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and National Research Council.

He was Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at Georgetown University and a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for International Economics and also Columbia University. Wilson earned his degree in history at Wooster and has served on the Board of Trustees since 2021. Previously, he served the College as a member of the Alumni Board from 2016 to 2019, and he has also served as a student mentor and an admissions event host.

Sandeep Bhatia ’89

Sandeep Bhatia ’89, current president of the Alumni Association and alumni trustee, is President of Om Consulting Group. He has served previously on the Alumni Board, including as an Alumni Trustee from 2009 to 2015. Bhatia came to Wooster from Kolkata, India in 1985 and earned his degree in Economics. His career has been in IT and Business consulting with utility industry clients across the U.S. He is a Board member at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes and also a member of the North Coast Angel Fund of North Coast Ventures. He previously worked at PwC, Arthur Andersen and BearingPoint. He has volunteered for Wooster at admissions and alumni events in the Cleveland area and participated in Wooster’s International Host Family program as a student and as a host family.

Christopher Causey ’85

Christopher Causey ’85, alumnus and trustee, is serving as chair of the Interim Presidential Search Committee in addition to his role as a member of the Presidential Search Committee. He is a corporate board member and principal of the Causey Consortium with 25 years of experience within healthcare’s financing and care delivery industry segments. In addition to his consulting practice, Causey has served on the Board of Directors of two biotechnology companies. Since 2003, he has been a director at United Therapeutics Corporation, a biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of therapeutic products for patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases. Previously, he served as a senior marketing officer for a variety of healthcare companies, including Allina Health System and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. He was also a member of the board of directors of Data Sciences International Inc., a private company that develops wireless physiological monitoring solutions, from 2008 to 2013. He earned his degree in psychology at Wooster and and later an M.B.A. at The George Washington University. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2015. He has also served as a member of the Alumni Board at the College as well as an alumni admissions representative and Scots in Service leader.

Sarah Sobeck

Sarah Sobeck is a professor of chemistry and associate dean for experiential learning. In her role as dean of experiential learning, she supports professional development for faculty and staff, and provides leadership in experiential education initiatives on campus. She completed her B.S. at Marquette University in chemistry and mathematics and her Ph.D. at University of Minnesota in physical chemistry. Her research explores the chemistry induced by UV or visible light on model organic systems, including UV-absorbers used in personal care products and colorants used in art.

Anne Wilson ’73 P’05

Anne Wilson ’73 P’05, alumna and trustee, was the president of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE) from 2014 through 2018. A retired Christian educator, she continues to be active within the organization. She co-chaired the annual conference for the APCE in 2019, and in 2021 and 2022 she served as a leader in planning virtual events for the association in February of 2021 and 2022. She was awarded APCE’s SUSTAIN Life Achievement Award in 2017. Prior to her role with APCE, she retired from Northwoods Presbyterian Church in Houston in 2009, where she served as the director of children and family ministry. She has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Texas Presbyterian Foundation, Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary, Presbyterian Pan American School and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians, a member of the Synod of the Sun Permanent Judicial Commission, and as treasurer and president for the South Central region of Association of Presbyterian Church Educators. She earned her degree in mathematics at Wooster and has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2019. Wilson served a term as a member of the Alumni Board, as President of the Alumni Board, and as an Alumni Trustee. In 2019 she and her husband, Butch Wilson ’73, were recognized with the John D. McKee Alumni Volunteer Award.

Amanda Iskin ’24

Amanda Iskin, born in Sao Paolo, Brazil, is a member of The College of Wooster Class of 2024. She is pursuing a major in economics. On campus she is involved with Latinas Unidas and Women and Gender Minorities in Economics (WWGME). Her favorite part of being at Wooster is the diverse group of people that she has met and the connections she has made.

Noah Golovan ’23

Noah Golovan is from Hunting Valley, OH, and is a member of The College of Wooster Class of 2023. He is pursuing majors in Philosophy and Political Science. On campus he is involved with Scot Council and serves as chair of the Outreach and Charter Committee. He is the captain of Men’s Swimming and Diving. His favorite part of being at Wooster is the vibrant and diverse community.

Greg Shaya

Greg Shaya is the Henry J. and Laura H. Copeland Professor of European History. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in history at the University of Michigan and completed his B.A. in English and philosophy also at the University. His research centers on the cultural history of France in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. He has written on early mass culture, anarchist-terrorism, public executions, and the history of emotions. He helped lead the development of the Pathways Programs, interdisciplinary programs that guide students in bringing together academic interests, hands-on experiences, and career exploration. He has worked with students to bring the tools of digital history to the local history of our region, co-founding the Wooster Digital History Project.

Leslie Wingard

Leslie Wingard is the dean for faculty development and a professor of English at the College. Wingard holds a B.A. from Spelman College and M.A. and Ph.D. in English from UCLA. Her research focuses on African American literature, Black visual culture, religion and literature, ethnic studies, and women’s and gender studies.

Sally Staley ’78

Sally Staley ’78, is an alumna and the current chair of Wooster’s Board of Trustees. She is serving on the Presidential Search Committee as an ex officio member. Staley is an investment governance consultant in private practice and with the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. In 2017, she retired from her role of 11 years as chief investment officer at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio, where she oversaw an in-house investment staff of six and managed $1.8 billion of globally diversified endowment and trust assets and $1.7 billion of employee retirement plan assets. She led, supported, and contributed to all factors driving investment results; supported academic programs, faculty, and students throughout the university; ensured performance results aligned with investment objectives; and built strong working relationships with investment committee trustees. Staley began at CWRU in 2002 serving first as associate treasurer for the Office of Treasury and Investment Services, and prior to joining the University, she held various investment positions including work at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC, the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, and Salomon Brothers Inc. In these positions, she managed multibillion dollar pension funds, developed international fixed income portfolios, authored investing manuals, trained staff on global bond and foreign exchange investing, and other investment and financial functions. Staley has served Wooster in a variety of ways since earning her degree in Latin American Studies in 1978. Prior to joining the Board of Trustees in 2006, she served as part of the alumni leadership group in the Cleveland area, as class president for the Class of ’78, and as an Alumni Admissions representative, and avid supporter of The Wooster Fund. She has served as chair of the Board since July 2021.

Jim McClung ’59

Jim McClung ’59, alumnus and emeritus trustee, is a former senior executive at FMC Corporation, a multinational chemical, machinery and defense manufacturer. He operated businesses in more than 75 countries, living in Africa and Europe for eight years, and built international revenues exceeding $ 2.5 billion. Presently he is CEO and Chair of Lismore International that integrates company growth strategies with advisory board services. In addition, he an active partner with SMB interim management, a search firm that provides interim top-level executives to companies and organizations. Likewise, he Chairs the board of 4 D Healthware, a remote health care company. And he currently serves on, or has been on, nine corporate boards of privately owned companies and public corporations, and four university and college boards.

He presently serves as director of the Japan American Society of Chicago, a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. In 2014, he received Wooster’s Distinguished Alumni Award. And in 2020, he received the Japanese Emperor’s award as a member of the distinguished The Order of the Rising Sun—the second highest award given by the Japanese government. McClung earned his bachelor’s degree from Wooster, a master’s degree from the University of Kansas, and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Jennie Saliers ’83

Jennie Saliers ’83, alumna and trustee, is a consultant on non-profit organization management. She is also on the board of Actor’s Express, a theatre company in Atlanta, and volunteers with Planned Parenthood Southeast. She earned her degree at Wooster in history and has served the College on the Board of Trustees since 2013. She has been an alumni admissions representative, co-class president, and regional leader of Scots in Service, and has been active in the Atlanta area on behalf of the College. Saliers and her husband Bill Levisay ’83 established the Saliers-Levisay Endowed Scholarship for students majoring in history or religious studies.

Brooke Krause

Brooke Krause is an associate professor of economics, business economics, and global and international studies. She completed her M.S. and Ph.D. in applied economics at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and earned her B.S. in economics, international studies, and Latin American studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Krause is a development economist with interests in gender, health, education, and poverty reduction strategies in low-income countries. Her most recent research focuses on the impact of a group saving and lending program on women’s empowerment in northern Tanzania. At Wooster, she teaches Econometrics, International Economic Development, Health Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, and a First Year Seminar on Global Health and Inequality. She received a prestigious grant from the Gates Foundation, IFPRI, and USAID to support her work on Gender, Agriculture, and Assets, and in 2019 was the recipient of the Community Enrichment Award from the NAACP of Wooster / Orrville. Krause is the faculty advisor for the inaugural Social Justice Internships this summer for students to work with organizations in Wayne County.
