Beyond Lesbian: An Evening with Staceyann Chin
The College of Wooster’s second annual Transnational Performance Series will feature, “Beyond Lesbian: An Evening with Staceyann Chin” on Wednesday, April 17, at 7 p.m., in Shoolroy Theatre (329 E. University St.). The performance will feature excerpts from Chin’s critically acclaimed play “Motherstruck,” directed by Cynthia Nixon, followed by a conversation about her life and work.
Chin is a Jamaican artist of Asian and African descent living in the U.S. She is the author of “The Other Side of Paradise” and “Cross/fire: Collected Poems of Staceyann Chin” is forthcoming. She was one of the cast members of the Tony-nominated Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam on Broadway.
