Prospectus now live for Wooster’s Presidential Search
Dear College of Wooster Community,
As we near the end of finals week and gear up for our Commencement celebrations for the Classes of 2022 and 2020, I am filled with gratitude for the many significant contributions of the Wooster community throughout a year of many challenges. I hope you are able to look back at your work during the 2021-2022 academic year with pride and admiration for all you have accomplished together.
Today, I am pleased to share the formal presidential prospectus advertising the search for Wooster’s 13th president. You can find it on our presidential search website.
The entire Presidential Search Committee wishes to express our sincere thanks to members of the Wooster community for the time, attention, and thoughtfulness you took in sharing your insights and suggestions which informed the creation of this prospectus to advertise our search. We deeply appreciate the meaningful engagement and feedback we received through our many in-person and virtual listening sessions with students, staff, faculty, alumni, family and friends, as well as the detailed comments we received via our online survey. Your engagement was critical to help us craft a document that reflects the values of our great institution and our hopes and aspirations for its future.
The prospectus tells Wooster’s remarkable story, beginning with our distinctive educational mission, the passion and dedication of our faculty and staff, and the diversity and international background of our students. It describes our vibrant campus and our deep commitment to building and supporting an equitable, diverse, and devoted community, as well as our record of success in fundraising and enrollment and strong board support. We highlighted the close connections we have to the local Wooster community, providing us a chance to tout the many internships, community service and other experiential learning opportunities in the area. It also sets out to define Wooster’s challenges and opportunities now and for the future as seen by members of our community. In addition to possessing the ability to chart a clear and compelling course for the future, we identified the priorities of continuing our work to build an equitable, inclusive and diverse environment, ensuring further support for student persistence, increasing the College’s financial resources, as well as restoring the campus community through listening, dialogue, and consensus-building focused on shared institutional purpose.
I invite you to share the prospectus with your networks to help us recruit our 13th president. Please also continue to send nominations and encourage prospective candidates to send their application materials to our search team at WoosterPresident@StorbeckSearch.com.
Our partners at Storbeck Search will be using the prospectus immediately to begin recruit a diverse, talented pool for our search committee to evaluate in the coming months. As the search moves forward, I will continue to share key milestones with you.
Congratulations again on a fantastic year, and best wishes for some much-needed rest and relaxation as we approach the summer months.
Go Scots!
