The assistant coach will support the head coach in the coaching duties of the NCAA D-III Football program in accordance and compliance with NCAA, North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and The College of Wooster policies and regulations. Additional responsibilities may be assigned in areas such as teaching, game management, committee work, and administration.

Essential Departmental Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in planning, development, and direction of all team training and conditioning activities at a level that will improve the Football program’s position of competitive leadership in the North Coast Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III. 
  • Participates in planning practices, training sessions, team and individual conditioning, line-ups and competitive strategies.
  • Assists in preparation and implementation of scouting reports, game film, film breakdown, and film exchange.
  • Assists in developing a recruitment strategy for prospective student athletes, informing prospects of academic programs, talent evaluations, coordinating mailings, telephone calls and text messages, and email exchanges. 
  • Assists in developing a strong social media platform with Facebook, X, and Instagram. 
  • Develops and maintains mutually supportive and collaborative working relationships with campus partners.
  • Develops meaningful connections with students, staff and faculty by being available and visible on campus.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the sport, and sport specific certification, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guideline governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes would be helpful.
