As an Educational Technologist Emily is responsible for advancing the use of technology for faculty, students, and staff. She assists faculty in identifying, selecting, and using educational and instructional technologies that complement their pedagogical approaches. Through workshops, classroom visits, and a team of Student Technology Assistants, Emily helps our students to develop abilities to critically assess, choose, and use technologies for developing and communicating knowledge and insight. Emily assesses technology education needs of staff and provides technology education and professional development opportunities for them.

Emily joined the Educational Technology department in August 2015. Previously, she worked for fifteen years as an educational technologist for Wooster City Schools. She holds a BA in English with a minor in Education from the College of Wooster and an MA in Instructional Technology from the University of Akron. Emily’s passion lies in working with faculty to assess their students’ needs and their own teaching practices with the goal of integrating technology to increase student engagement and achievement. She has experience in using a range of technologies including mobile devices and interactive projectors and whiteboards as well as a variety of software applications and online products. Emily enjoys designing training materials, facilitating professional development workshops, and providing coaching.
