Jason McGrath began his position as vice president for enrollment management at The College of Wooster on Jan. 6, 2025. A seasoned professional in higher education, he brings a wealth of experience, including several years of previous service at Wooster.

McGrath began his 25-year career in higher education as an academic advisor at Sinclair Community College, before discovering his affinity for admissions work while serving in Wooster’s Admissions office from 2002 to 2006. After this early role, McGrath expanded his admissions acumen at Vanderbilt University, where he remained for nearly 16 years. Through that span, McGrath shaped the University’s strategy surrounding domestic recruitment, evolved first-year and transfer evaluation processes, and oversaw student-athlete admissions, while building a network of high school counselors and fellow admissions professionals around the world. In 2022, McGrath brought his recruitment and selection expertise to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a top public university in the U.S., serving as associate provost and director of undergraduate admissions. Over the past two and a half years, Jason has led UNC’s admissions office through continuous public attention, intense application growth, increased admissions selectivity, and expanded recruitment and outreach efforts.

McGrath holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in general psychology from the University of Dayton.
