Jiyoon Jeong is a versatile collaborative pianist and piano instructor. She currently serves as a collaborative pianist at The College of Wooster and the University of Akron. She previously worked as a staff pianist at Texas Woman’s University.
Dr. Jeong holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas, where she studied under Adam Wodnicki and served as a teaching assistant. Her academic credentials include a Master of Music from Yonsei University in South Korea and a Bachelor of Music from Sookmyung Women’s University, with specializations in Piano Performance and Suzuki Piano Pedagogy.
As a collaborative pianist, Dr. Jeong has extensive experience working with choirs, instrumentalists, and ensembles. Her professional roles include staff pianist for the University of North Texas Opera and Symphonic Band, and accompanist for Texas Woman’s University Chamber Singers and Concert Choir. She has collaborated with organizations such as the Denton Bach Society Choir, Hanuri Opera, and Laluce Choir, and recently performed as a keyboardist with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her performance highlights include appearances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Seoul Arts Center. She has performed concerti with the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra and the Sookmyung Women’s University Orchestra.
Additionally, she is an accomplished organist who studied under Dr. Lenora McCroskey. She currently serves as a music coordinator and organist at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ohio.
