Tyler Hilbert, hailing from Plain City, Ohio, is graduating from The College of Wooster with a major in business economics, and minors in statistical and data sciences and physical education. His Independent Study, “Playground to Portfolio: Uncovering the Potential for Investment-Grade Returns in Collectible Sports and Pokémon Cards,” highlights his interdisciplinary approach to economics and finance.
Throughout his career at Wooster, Hilbert has exemplified a commitment to both academics and extracurricular activities.
As a dedicated athlete, Hilbert has been an integral member of Wooster’s men’s golf team for four years, concurrently serving as a team representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In his role as a student-athlete leader, he was also invited to participate on the Athletic Director Search Student Leader Focus Group in 2023.
Beyond athletics, Hilbert’s involvement extends to various leadership roles and academic pursuits. He served as a trustee in the Jenny Investment Club for two years and held a leadership position in the Wooster Christian Fellowship for two years. He is also a member of the Economic Honor Society, Omicron Delta Epsilon.
Hilbert’s professional experiences include working as a semester-long project consultant for the real-estate crowdfunding platform Common Owner, where he contributed to their expansion into new markets. Post-graduation, Hilbert plans to explore opportunities in business, finance, data, or golf while continuing his pursuit of playing professional golf.
