WOOSTER, Ohio – The Wooster Chorus and the Wooster Singers will present a joint concert on Saturday, Dec. 1, at The College of Wooster. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center (525 E. University St.) beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Wooster Chorus, under the direction of Lisa Wong, will present an eclectic program of contemporary choral music, including the work of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw. Acclaimed violinist Andrew Sords will be the featured guest soloist.

The Wooster Singers, directed by Jennifer Call, will perform repertoire that encourages the listener and singer to see themselves as part of the global community.  The music brings to life various points of view to proclaim that, “we will Stand Together with our differences to create a better world,” according to Call.

Founded in 1964, the Wooster Chorus is comprised of students representing all academic areas within The College of Wooster’s liberal arts program. One of four recipients of the 2017 Honorable Mention for the American Prize in Collegiate Choral Performance, the Chorus has been praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry, creative programming, and engaging performances. The Wooster Singers is a non-auditioned, mixed-voice choral ensemble and performs a variety of music on and off campus throughout the academic year.
