Faculty and Guest Recital April 5 at The College of Wooster
WOOSTER – Anna Bowman Hurt, adjunct cello instructor at The College of Wooster, will present a concert along with pianist Sarah HyoKyung Ha, in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center (525 E. University St.) on Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m. The concert, “Progress and Unity,” will feature works by Johannes Brahms and Dmitri Shostakovich.
In addition to teaching at Wooster, Bowman Hurt also teaches at the Cleveland area Music Settlement and her own private music studio. She is a member of the award winning Autana Trio, which won a bronze medal at the 2015 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, as well as a founding member of the Mosa String Quartet and the Cleveland Cello Quartet. She received a bachelor of arts degree and master of arts degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
A native of South Korea, HyoKyung Ha began piano studies at age four and has performed in major concert halls in Korea, Brazil, Italy, France, and the U.S. She received a bachelor of music degree from the New England Conservatory, a master’s degree from the Julliard School, and is currently pursuing a doctor of music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
