Faculty Recital Featuring Arleigh Savage Sept. 21

WOOSTER – Arleigh Savage, adjunct bassoon instructor at The College of Wooster, accompanied by pianist Christina Mathews, will present a concert in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center (525 E. University St.) on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m.
The program will feature Bernard Garfield’s “Soliloquy,” Wolfgang Mozart’s Concerto in Bb, Eugène Bozza’s “Nocturne-Danse,” “Sonatine Tango” by Pierre-Max Dubois, and William Hurlstone’s Sonata in F.
In addition to teaching at Wooster, Savage is the second bassoonist with the Youngstown Symphony, CityMusic Cleveland, and the Lancaster Summer Music Festival Orchestra. She is also the principal bassoonist with the Cleveland Opera Theater and co-founder of North Coast Winds (NCW), where she serves as a performer, an educational outreach coordinator, and staff member of its annual chamber music camp. She received a bachelor of music degree from Michigan State University and master of music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
