Susan Clayton to Speak at World Wildlife Fund’s Fuller Symposium on Tuesday

WOOSTER, Ohio – Susan Clayton, the Whitmore-Williams Professor of Psychology at The College of Wooster, will be one of the featured presenters at Tuesday afternoon’s Fuller Symposium, a conference coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund, in Washington, D.C.

The Fuller Symposium annually brings together “leading health and environment experts to discuss the relationship and complexity between human health and environmental systems and what we need to do to create better health opportunities for people and nature,” according to the WWF website.

Clayton, who specializes in the human relationship with nature, how it is socially constructed, and how it can be used to promote conservation, will be presenting “Environmental Health and Psychological Wellbeing: Making the Connection” and then will be part of a panel discussion, moderated by Natalie Phaholyothin, the CEO of WWF-Thailand.

Clayton has authored a number of books and articles, including a 2017 American Psychological Association report, titled “Mental Health and Our Changing Climate: Impacts, Implications, and Guidance.” She has served as an outstanding resource on a variety of environmental- and psychological-interrelated topics, having been quoted in CNN.com, Marie Claire magazine, National Geographic, The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post among others, all within the last two years.

The Fuller Symposium will be live streamed here, and Clayton’s presentation and panel is scheduled from 3:50-5:25 p.m.
