As we approach the winter break and the last week of classes before finals, it brings me great joy to share that we have successfully completed the search process for Wooster’s next president!
Please save the date for Thursday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. EST for a formal announcement of Wooster’s 13th president. To ensure all have the chance to experience this event, we will be hosting our announcement virtually on the Wooster website. Following this announcement at 2 p.m. EST, Sally Staley, chair of the Board of Trustees, and Interim President Wayne Webster invite you to a special one-hour Q&A with the new president.

- We will be holding a campus Meet & Greet with Wooster’s 13th President on Friday, January 27. This event will be in-person and will include individual receptions for faculty and staff, students, and local alumni and friends. Stay tuned for additional details after the holidays.
This exceptional news comes at the end of a search process that took shape formally nine months ago in February 2022. I am so grateful for the trust you put in us as well as your participation along the way. Your nominations as well as the input shared during our April listening sessions and on the online survey regarding Wooster’s strengths, opportunities, and challenges helped to shape the presidential prospectus we used to advertise the position in May and became part of the tools we used to evaluate candidates. All these efforts helped us to recruit a deep pool of candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Please join me in thanking the members of the Presidential Search Committee and our partners at Storbeck Search. I am deeply grateful for their time, attention, and thoughtfulness throughout this process, and for their dedication and commitment to ensuring our work was thorough, inclusive, and equitable. Thanks as well to the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who contributed their support and perspectives and participated in private on campus meetings in October.
After an extensive review of candidates and your feedback the Search Committee presented our recommendation to the Board of Trustees in November, and they unanimously approved the selection. On behalf of the Search Committee and Trustees, we cannot wait to introduce you to Wooster’s 13th president next week.
