Spring 2023 Wooster magazine features alumni influencing change worldwide
Students come to The College of Wooster from around the country and around the world, forming a diverse community and learning environment that fosters critical thinking in the context of multiple perspectives. When graduates take their Wooster education out into the world, they become leaders of character and influence all over the globe. In this spring 2023 issue of Wooster magazine mailed to constituents last week, read about alumni serving in the foreign service, studying glaciers to understand climate change, and tackling big-world food problems, as just a few examples. Also featured are students who have attended the annual Athens Democracy Forum for the past five years and recent international graduates taking advantage of opportunities to gain experience in STEM fields. Finally, in this issue, read an interview with Wooster’s next president, Dr. Anne McCall and find out her perspective on the College’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
The College news Oak Grove section highlights a “Mentoring Matchup” in mathematics between a student and faculty member, both the first in their families to attend College, “Why Wooster” with new librarian Makiba Foster, and a story about an endowment fund broadening study abroad opportunities.
