The College of Wooster was selected once again as one of the nation’s top schools by The Princeton Review in its guidebook, The Best 387 Colleges: 2022 Edition. The Princeton Review uses surveys of 154,000 students from across the country to make their distinctions.

Wooster was also selected to the “Best Midwestern” and “Best Value Colleges” lists.

The Princeton Review also listed Wooster under several of its Great Lists, including:

  • 11 – Best Schools for Internships (Private Schools)
  • 17 – Best Schools for Making an Impact (Private Schools)
  • Great Professor Accessibility
  • Great Race/Class Interaction
  • Students Study the Most

Students interviewed for the publication said, “mentoring is a huge focal point of Wooster’s academics and the ‘resources are endless’ for those looking to take advantage of things like ‘numerous opportunities for research and internships,’” pointing to the institution’s undergraduate mentored Independent Study experience.

The reviews also noted Wooster’s teaching excellence with students saying, “professors at Wooster are ‘hidden gems’ who are all ‘very passionate about their subjects’ and their goal ‘to shape their students into lifelong learners.’”

Campus life is an important factor in Princeton Review’s assessment of a college, and Wooster’s wide variety of student organizations and activities was noted by students. Students surveyed said they are “usually ‘busy in the library doing homework or working on their Independent Studies,’ but everyone finds time for (typically multiple) extracurriculars, which ‘run the gamut of recreational pastimes.’”

The Princeton Review is a leading tutoring, test prep and college admission services company. The company is not affiliated with Princeton University.
