Dr. Dieng earned his master’s and Ph.D. degrees at The Ohio State University in African American and African Studies after completing a master’s degree in African and postcolonial Studies at Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal. His doctoral dissertation “Race, Cultural and National Identity in the Diaspora: Trajectories of Black Subjectivities,” offers a comparative study of Black subjectivities in Europe with a particular focus on France and Britain. Before joining the College of Wooster, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Case Western Reserve University in Humanities in Leadership and Learning Series program.Dr. Dieng’s teaching and research interests include cultural relations between Africa, Europe, and America with a focus on race theory, cultural studies, identity politics, citizenship, and migration in literature, philosophy, and film
