Citational Politics with Dr. Christen A. Smith

On September 14, the College of Wooster hosted a conversation on citational politics with Dr. Christen A. Smith, founder of the #CiteBlackWomen collective. Dr. Smith was joined by Librarian of the College Makiba Foster to discuss the considerations, pressures, and biases which lead to some scholars being cited preferentially or not at all, and the importance of building thoughtful research and citation practices that address these imbalances.
