The College of Wooster Preschool to reopen in fall 2024
The College of Wooster Preschool (formerly Wooster Nursery School) will reopen in the fall, based on community interest and meeting registration goals. The Preschool will operate an educational program for children ages 3 to 5 years old in the Westminster Church House on the College’s campus. Programming will be extended by 30 minutes with classes running from 9 a.m. to noon. Before care will be offered from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunchtime care from noon to 1 p.m.
While the Preschool’s new name reflects a new operating model and updated curriculum, the school will maintain the traditions and values of the former Nursery School cherished by generations of Wooster community members. Programming will continue to emphasize the importance of play-based, nature-inspired learning through developmentally appropriate instruction while aligning with Ohio’s current Early Learning & Development Standards.
The College of Wooster Preschool is proud to build upon the more than 75-year history of the Nursery School in reestablishing a community of learning for both preschool children and college students at Wooster. Register or learn more at wooster.edu/preschool or contact Tessa Hammond, director, at thammond@wooster.edu.
