The Wooster College Republicans is an inclusive political group on campus focused on political engagement, community outreach, and creating meaningful and professional relationships on Wooster’s campus. Throughout the year, we host weekly meetings, assist the Wayne Country GOP, and also attend conferences, such as CPAC in Washington DC. No individual has to fit a certain ‘mold’ to participate in our group.
We do not as a group support or endorse any political candidates—though we are able to participate in campaigns—as all political ideologies are welcome to join meetings and become members. The beliefs of those on the executive board are not representative of the other members of the group, and we welcome all to come and join us for meaningful conversations and debates on political topics of all kinds. Sensitive topics are welcome to be discussed, however we are aware that some topic should be discussed with care for any individuals who may feel uncomfortable, and we make a point to be sure that everybody feels comfortable with the conversations we have.
We aim to engage meaningfully with individuals both on the college campus and in the Wooster community to provoke thoughtful, political conversations, as well as hold meetings for members and any interested individuals on campus. Our meetings create a safe space for individuals of all political and ideological backgrounds to discuss politics in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
